Abstract
Variations of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) such as duplication or accessory MCA are infrequent but nevertheless have important clinical and radiological implications. We report a patient who presented with recurrent episodes of hemisensory symptom associated with variation of the MCA, which was an incidental finding, detected by transcranial doppler sonography (TCD). The presence of anatomical variations of the MCA can lead to misinterpretations of the TCD.
